I created this blog exists to share my interest in life of Japan and it's culture. The focus of this interest is in the anime and manga subculture. I enjoy watching anime, reading manga, collecting figures and even a bit of my own artwork. I attend events in the UK and have also been to Japan to experience the culture first hand. Whilst my skill at languages is limited at best, I'm self-studying Japanese as a language and have set myself the goal of achieving JLPT Level 5 by the end of 2011.
Professionally I am a project manager working with information systems to enable electronic ways of working across distributed user groups. This aligns with my other interest of web development and design. My long-term goal is to be able to use my project management experience, web development skills and knowledge of Japanese culture together for my professional career and to strengthen Japan's international ties.
Contact Me
If you would like to contact me, please send me a message via Twitter or my Facebook for longer messages. I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Website Design
Over the years I have taught myself development skills for the web. I have experience with the technical side of web development including the use of HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Javascript and jQuery. I also have experience with the design of graphics, developing my own graphics when necessary.
My previous work includes:
- Alcon 2010 - Bespoke website for the Alcon 2010 anime convention.
- Animeleague - Bespoke home portal and template for Animeleague Club London.
- KyokoHunter.net - Based on the Joomla! content management system with a bespoke template and custom modules.
My current work includes further developing my own website here at kyokohunter.net and an exciting new project for the wider anime and manga community.
I'm always keen to engage with new projects and ideas, especially those which benefit the anime and manga community. If you'd like to get in touch, please see the 'Contact Me' section above.
Anime and Manga
I'm a great fan of anime and manga, having been watching and reading the stuff since 1999. You can follow what I have watched and read at MyAnimeList. My favourites include Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (Rumbling Hearts), Code Geass and Toradora.
Figures

I've got an ever-growing collection of anime and manga figures. The main focus of my collection are Nendoroids, the super-deformed poseable figures produced by Good Smile Company. You can see what I have in my collection at my profile on MyFigureCollection.net.
Art
Although I haven't had much opportunity recently, in the past I've drawn and created anime-style artwork. You can see my portfolio of artwork on my DeviantArt profile.
My requested work includes:
- Comic artwork for AnimeLeague flyers
- Digital colouring for Alcon 2009 convention badges
My non-requested work includes:
- Mirai Suenaga fanart, featured on DannyChoo.com
- Cafe Mangel short manga for the Alcon 2008 conbook
